Meet Nelléne Louw. A contemporary abstract artist, the genius behind the concept; and very proudly, a 77 year old Great Grandmother. She is affectionately known, to nearly everyone, as “Ouma”.
The life of an artist is never a predictable one; and you cannnot know when inspiration will strike. This was evident for Nelléne when this new style of painting became her focal point and channel for creative expression.
With all the somber tones one was met with during lockdown, literally and metaphorically, Nelléne decided that we all need colour in our lives; and a healthy dose of it.
She began playing around with colour schemes, even mixing up her own paint; to get the colour just right. This quickly turned into a very unique style of transforming the canvas, one which arguably has never been done before. Although the method was quickly honed, the process of making each piece is anything but speedy. Each artwork requires attention to detail, planning and most of all patience. This is all balanced by an attitude of spontaneity. After all, some of the best creations of all time were perfected by happenstance. One factor which truly sets her pieces apart, is the perspective that the frames are just as much a part of the art, as the paintings themselves. By using bold and vibrant frame pairings, which truly complement the pantone of each piece, Nelléne is looking to #ColourOutsideTheLines.
Nelléne has many beautiful pieces ready for you to choose from; a collection, by which, you will not be disappointed. There is also the option of design by request, allowing you to have input in terms of colour scape and framing.
Don’t hesitate, whether home or office, you need a #NelleneOriginal to liven up your space.
